In the 7th match minute, Dionisius Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Cosme to maneuver through the defense. Curvello EC's Walmir Maia took a good shot, in the 7th minute, which hit the crossbar above José Augusto Pinho's head, and flew over the goal. Dionisius Futebol Clube's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Curvello EC. When Gugu de Senna fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curvello EC's protests and gave Gugu de Senna a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Gugu de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute, Yuri Varela fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Germano Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Curvello EC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Valério Velasco hit a great ball. José Augusto Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 19 played minutes Dionisius Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Netto. In the 21st minute, Yuri Varela made a precise shot to the right of Zé Pedro Massa. Curvello EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Sidnei Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. José Augusto Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Trancoso in the 28th minute of the match. Curvello EC's Zé Pedro Massa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Curvello EC from getting a goal against them. Enio Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Pinho having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Diamantino Trancoso made a precise shot to the right of José Augusto Pinho. Dionisius Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Curvello EC's Zé Pedro Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Varela in the 39th minute of play. Haroldo Simões hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Walmir Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Pinho having to interfere. Dionisius Futebol Clube's José Augusto Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Trancoso in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute, Walmir Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 56 minutes, Haroldo Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dionisius Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Augusto Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Maia in the 59th minute of play. Curvello EC's Zé Pedro Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Varela in the 61st minute of play. Diamantino Trancoso's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, José Augusto Pinho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. José Augusto Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Curvello EC's Zé Pedro Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Simões in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Varela in the 86th minute of play forced Curvello EC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Pedro Massa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yuri Varela went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Dionisius Futebol Clube's José Augusto Pinho got control of the ball when Diamantino Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Curvello EC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
