The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aírton Saraiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

S.C.Clavico's Aírton Saraiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save S.C.Clavico from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Maevo FC's zone, Jeferson Paes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Washington Amaral came out of the goal and Jeferson Paes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Júlio Vides left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.C.Clavico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. After 70 minutes, Gustavo Souza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maevo FC and the S.C.Clavico players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Maevo FC's Gustavo Souza got a free kick in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the game, S.C.Clavico's Jeferson Paes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Washington Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. Tarcisio Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aírton Saraiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tarcisio Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Washington Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Vides in the 80th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Tarcisio Silva took a quick shot and it went in 3-5 without a chance for Aírton Saraiva to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tarcisio Silva got free with Aírton Saraiva in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute, Raúl de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Tarcisio Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aírton Saraiva was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Maevo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
