The referee ignored Esporte Clube Comercial's protests and gave Breno Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Esporte Clube Comercial getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Breno Vianna hit a great ball. In the 9th minute of the match Raí Valadares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but 石泉奕 showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Breno Vianna was shown his second yellow card after 11 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Breno Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 石泉奕 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonas Duarte's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Aristides Arixo put in a rough tackle. If Christian de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian de Toledo in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 石泉奕 saved Esporte Clube Comercial from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian de Toledo in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 石泉奕 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Jonas Duarte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CORINTHIANS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Glauco Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esporte Clube Comercial's 石泉奕 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Duarte in the 30th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Andrézinho Palmeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CORINTHIANS and the Esporte Clube Comercial players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st minute, Andrézinho Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Glauco Silva's late challenge caught a CORINTHIANS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glauco Silva helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Esporte Clube Comercial got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Silva. In the 33rd minute Christian de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 石泉奕 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half CORINTHIANS were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tarcisio Félix was the one to do the kick off. Arí Mello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but 石泉奕 made a huge save. 58 minutes into the game, Tarcisio Félix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esporte Clube Comercial's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CORINTHIANS the free kick. Tarcisio Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A hard shot by Léo Zanette from long distance, 65 minutes into the match, got 石泉奕's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Jonas Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 石泉奕 having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Duarte in the 77th minute of play forced Esporte Clube Comercial's goalkeeper 石泉奕 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Duarte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 石泉奕 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Tarcisio Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Donato Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Comercial's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Mello came free, but 石泉奕 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Although Esporte Clube Comercial had been in control for most of the match, CORINTHIANS still came away with the win.
