In the 2nd match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Simão Tande in the 7th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Flamengo's Reginaldo Gomes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cauã Paranaense during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Cauã Paranaense hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Tomaž Silva sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Flamengo's Léo Lopes didn't even have to move. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomaž Silva got free with Léo Lopes in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Reginaldo Gomes hit a great ball. Fabrício Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Léo Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Maevo FC's Gustavo Souza got a free kick in the 20th minute. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Maevo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomaž Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laerte Salgado, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Fabrício Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Jardel de Queirós reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Léo Lopes. The goal made the score 1-0. Washington Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Eduardo Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Maevo FC defense, José Pedro Lago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Washington Amaral. The Maevo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Washington Amaral should have stopped the shot. A hard, long distance shot from Fabrício Mendonça flew over the goal. Leonel Tande made in the 43rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Flamengo's Cauã Paranaense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jardel de Queirós to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Jardel de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Luís Eduardo Sarmento took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Washington Amaral to make any attempt to save it. Washington Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Pedro Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Maevo FC's Jardel de Queirós in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flamengo's goalie prevented a goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Flamengo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! José Pedro Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 82 minutes, Carlinhos Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maevo FC and the Flamengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Maevo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juvenal Guerra took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Washington Amaral. Washington Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Washington Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Sarmento in the 87th minute of play. Washington Amaral was a little too slow when Luís Eduardo Sarmento got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 2-5. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Maevo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jardel de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Maevo FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Flamengo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
