Jorginho Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Diamantino Trancoso sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir Maia in the 24th minute of play forced Orlando Pirates's goalkeeper Jorginho Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Pirates's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Enio Galvão scored to the left of an out of position Jorginho Maranhense, making the score, 2-0. Orlando Pirates's Jorginho Maranhense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Orlando Pirates from getting a goal against them. Gerson Félix hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute Emerson Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Pedro Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Enio Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curvello EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Enio Galvão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorginho Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Emerson Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Orlando Pirates fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson Jacinto couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silas Moraes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorginho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Trancoso in the 58th minute of the match. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Orlando Pirates's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Walmir Maia was slow to take the kick. During this time Curvello EC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Alan Duarte heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Valdo Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Walmir Maia struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Jorginho Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curvello EC. Jorginho Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Maia in the 72nd minute of play. Erik Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Zé Pedro Massa made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Orlando Pirates's Tiago Arce got a free kick in the 80th minute. Enio Galvão's late challenge caught a Orlando Pirates's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enio Galvão helped the player get up and apologised. Enio Galvão hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Curvello EC had won after a very even match.
