In the 3rdth minute of the game Erik Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Confiança FC's Washington Amaral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emerson Jacinto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Washington Amaral made a huge save. 7 minutes into the game, Erik Mendonça recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Washington Amaral. Erik Mendonça showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Leonel Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Jorginho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jardel de Queirós in the 16th minute of the match. Leonel Tande hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Emerson Jacinto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Washington Amaral made a huge save. Washington Amaral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Erik Mendonça showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Orlando Pirates's Emerson Jacinto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Washington Amaral. Washington Amaral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Washington Amaral made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Emerson Jacinto sent off a good shot on target. Aloísio Andrade was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th match minute, Confiança FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aloísio Andrade to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Confiança FC's Washington Amaral got control of the ball when Emerson Jacinto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiago Arce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Washington Amaral made a huge save.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jardel de Queirós made a kick off. Emerson Jacinto took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Washington Amaral. Washington Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Tomaž Silva hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. A collision led to Confiança FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Fabrício Mendonça hit a great ball. Jardel de Queirós received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jorginho Maranhense came out and tried to block the shot, but Jardel de Queirós slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 65th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Emerson Jacinto notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Confiança FC's Washington Amaral. Washington Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jardel de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Amaral having to interfere. In the 82nd minute of the game Leonel Tande made a throw-in which Gustavo Souza played forward. Erik Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Washington Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Erik Mendonça cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Washington Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Mendonça in the 90th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Washington Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Emerson Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Confiança FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Mendonça came free, but Washington Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Mendonça in the 95th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Washington Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Orlando Pirates players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
