In the 19th minute, Agnaldo Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Paulo F.C's zone, Agnaldo Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Berger came out of the goal and Agnaldo Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rony Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Luís Fernando Lucas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araçoiaba FC and the Sao Paulo F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Araçoiaba FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fernando Lucas. Belchior Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes Sao Paulo F.C got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Vidal. Abel Berger was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luiz Gustavo Bastos. If Rony Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rony Meira to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Araçoiaba FC got a corner. Sao Paulo F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rony Meira ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Araçoiaba FC's Belchior Luz getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Abel Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rony Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Hélder Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rony Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Araçoiaba FC's Rony Meira got a free kick in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rony Meira in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Berger saved Sao Paulo F.C from getting behind. Rony Meira might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abel Berger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rony Meira ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rony Meira in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Araçoiaba FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rony Meira in the 76th minute. In the 81st minute, Isaltino Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Rony Meira put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Abel Berger. If Maurício Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
