Luiz Fábio Peres came out of the goal and Isaltino Guedes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Sao Paulo F.C's Maurício Cerezo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Fábio Peres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. CASTANHEIRA F.C.'s Luiz Fábio Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauã Nogueira in the 28th minute of play. Manoel Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Berger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 41st minute, Emiliano Nardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to CASTANHEIRA F.C. getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Noel Tepedino hit a great ball. In the 45th minute of the match Isaltino Guedes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Fábio Peres skillfully saved the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cauã Nogueira to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauã Nogueira in the 52nd minute of play forced CASTANHEIRA F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Sao Paulo F.C's Cauã Nogueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
