After 16 played minutes, Real Alvinegro FC's Francisco Pinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luís Trigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Alvinegro FC reached it. Reginaldo Amaral made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Baltazar Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. Reynaldo Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Trigo having to interfere. Luís Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Doctor X booed when Real Alvinegro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes Real Alvinegro FC got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Silva. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
