Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Juninho Abreu kicked off to start the match. Doriva Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The EC Caucaia fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when EC Caucaia's Juninho Abreu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 26th minute, Passaros EC's Ernani de Queiroz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Claudinho Abreu. Claudinho Abreu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. When Osmar Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Passaros EC's protests and gave Osmar Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. Osmar Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. When EC Caucaia's Juninho Abreu in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Passaros EC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Passaros EC's zone, Aníbal Aparecido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doriva Catarinense came out of the goal and Aníbal Aparecido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Juninho Abreu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doriva Catarinense was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Claudinho Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernani de Queiroz in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernani de Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Passaros EC's goalkeeper Doriva Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juninho Abreu. EC Caucaia's Gugu Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Passaros EC got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Matorin. Juninho Abreu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Doriva Catarinense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ernani de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernani de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of EC Caucaia booed when Passaros EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute Juninho Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juninho Abreu in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Doriva Catarinense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 81st minute Diego Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Passaros EC's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Aparecido came free, but Doriva Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 88 played minutes Passaros EC got a freekick which was hit by Osmar Brodel. When Aníbal Aparecido came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the EC Caucaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Aparecido couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded EC Caucaia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Passaros EC.
