An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Azevedo in the 6th minute of play forced Valqueire Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Zeca Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Morro Grande FC's Betão Varela in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valqueire Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Cristóvão Félix came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Valqueire Futebol Clube's Diego Leal. But to his dismay, Diego Leal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Cristóvão Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Leite in the 11th minute of the match. If Cristóvão Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dráusio Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Valqueire Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráusio Rosado couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute, Diego Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dráusio Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Betão Varela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Morro Grande FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Betão Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Dráusio Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Betão Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zeca Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute, Betão Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zeca Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Hílton de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 58 minutes, Hílton de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morro Grande FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hílton de Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeca Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gino Abraão hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 64 played minutes Morro Grande FC got a freekick which was hit by Hílton de Queirós. In the 72nd minute, Adilson Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Márcio Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morro Grande FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Márcio Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeca Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dráusio Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Ediberto Cardozo in the 82nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Morro Grande FC's Hílton de Queirós. Morro Grande FC's Hílton de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Betão Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Morro Grande FC's Dráusio Azevedo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Dráusio Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Zeca Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Morro Grande FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Valqueire Futebol Clube throughout the match.
