Doriva Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitório Linhares in the 20th minute of the match. Ernani de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel do Valle having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vitório Linhares in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doriva Catarinense saved Passaros EC from getting behind. In the 31st minute Ciro Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lenílson Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of Palestina booed when Passaros EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Palestina supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palestina would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
