Orlando Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Hermes having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Bodoco's Horácio Hermes threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fausto Terra, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Bodoco players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AC Cecchetto were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Fausto Terra made the kick off in the second half. AC Cecchetto's Ernani Silveira suffered a concussion in the 52nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Orlando Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando Valladares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. AC Cecchetto's Vinícius Gaúcho was substituted for Ernani Silveira. The supporters of AC Cecchetto booed when Bodoco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the AC Cecchetto defense, Orlando Valladares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horácio Hermes. The AC Cecchetto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horácio Hermes should have stopped the shot. The AC Cecchetto supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AC Cecchetto would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
