Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 145) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Breno Paes kicked off to start the match. After 2 played minutes Palestra Itália got a freekick which was hit by Léo Queirós. Arlindo Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwidon Dankowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arlindo Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwidon Dankowski in the 9th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelsinho Mineiro during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Espinhal getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Nelsinho Mineiro hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breno Paes in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg César Simões saved Espinhal from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Palestra Itália's zone, Gwidon Dankowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Dias came out of the goal and Gwidon Dankowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Belmiro Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Arlindo Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 35 minutes of play, Espinhal's Gwidon Dankowski made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arlindo Dias was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute, Belmiro Pontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Dias was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Arlindo Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwidon Dankowski in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gwidon Dankowski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Belmiro Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Dias having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Belmiro Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinhal's supporters rose to their feet, but Belmiro Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Breno Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arlindo Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwidon Dankowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Gwidon Dankowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arlindo Dias. That made the score 0-3 in the 65 minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Cléberson Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra Itália's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléberson Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gwidon Dankowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Gwidon Dankowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gwidon Dankowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arlindo Dias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gwidon Dankowski ran back to his position shaking his head. After 77 minutes of play, Espinhal's Belmiro Pontes made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arlindo Dias was left in no man's land by his defense there! César Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 84 played minutes Espinhal got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho Peres. With a little luck, Palestra Itália's Arlindo Dias got control of the ball when Belmiro Pontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Palestra Itália's Evaristo Botelho got a free kick in the 90th minute. Belmiro Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Breno Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but César Simões was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Arlindo Dias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Pontes in the 95th minute. Espinhal's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
