Spectators: 7549 (Terracing: 5663, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vinícius Lago got the match started through his kick off. César Simões came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by União Verde FC's Vinícius Lago. But to his dismay, Vinícius Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 7th match minute, União Verde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Marques to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in União Verde FC's zone, Gwidon Dankowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal and Gwidon Dankowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Belmiro Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. União Verde FC's Gilvan Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Espinhal's César Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Espinhal from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Espinhal booed when União Verde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Espinhal's César Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Pombal in the 31st minute of play. Belmiro Pontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir Pérez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Valdir Pérez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwidon Dankowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gwidon Dankowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Ademir Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 52 minutes into the match, Murillo Godoi sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Valdir Pérez threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Murillo Godoi this time. A throw-in in the 56th minute of the game was made by Lenílson Penha with Vinícius Lago as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 61 minutes into the match, Espinhal's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Pombal came free, but César Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gwidon Dankowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute Gwidon Dankowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 minutes of play, Espinhal's Belmiro Pontes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdir Pérez was left in no man's land by his defense there! 74 minutes into the match, Espinhal's goal looked a bit too open when Vinícius Lago came free, but César Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Paraibano in the 75th minute of play forced Espinhal's goalkeeper César Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwidon Dankowski in the 82nd minute of play. When Rui Lara fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Rui Lara a yellow card for diving instead. União Verde FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Espinhal for a fine match.
