The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Breno Paes to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Ismael Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 54 minutes, Breno Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra Itália's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breno Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Bebeto Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. BIRUTI FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bebeto Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Afonsinho Fontes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arlindo Dias. That made the score 1-1 in the 63 minute of play. Bebeto Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Arlindo Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 72 minutes of play, Palestra Itália's Breno Paes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. With his leg Arlindo Dias managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when BIRUTI FC's Ismael Alves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Maurício Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Breno Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Pena having to interfere. Palestra Itália's Breno Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Palestra Itália fans cheered their team off the field, for while BIRUTI FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
