Belmiro Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the BIRUTI FC defense, Belmiro Pontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duda Pena. The BIRUTI FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duda Pena should have stopped the shot. A collision led to BIRUTI FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Rubinho Marinho hit a great ball. Duda Pena was a little too slow when Gwidon Dankowski got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Espinhal's zone, Ismael Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Simões came out of the goal and Ismael Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th play minute Belmiro Pontes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Duda Pena. 3-0. Duda Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Azevedo in the 23rd minute of play. Duda Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwidon Dankowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Espinhal defense, Ismael Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of César Simões. The Espinhal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that César Simões should have stopped the shot. César Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonsinho Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Wellington Berger hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Gwidon Dankowski struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Duda Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espinhal. Espinhal's César Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Fontes in the 52nd minute of play. After having played for 55 minutes, Belmiro Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belmiro Pontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th minute, Gwidon Dankowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duda Pena was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. The supporters of Espinhal booed when BIRUTI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 66 minutes into the game, when Breno Pimenta put in a rough tackle. In the 65th minute, one of Espinhal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Espinhal. César Simões had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Afonsinho Fontes's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball In the 67th minute, Afonsinho Fontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. César Simões was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Ronaldinho Azevedo's late challenge caught a BIRUTI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldinho Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. Ronaldinho Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Ismael Alves in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of César Simões, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
