Breno Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Ivo Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cléberson Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan de Medeiros having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Evaristo Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra Itália's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

In the 58th minute, Breno Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 66 played minutes Transvaal got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando da Costa. Amauri Baiano charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Transvaal's Renan de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Garcia in the 80th minute of play. Breno Paes took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renan de Medeiros. In the 88th minute of the match Maurício Favoretto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renan de Medeiros showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cléberson Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Renan de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palestra Itália walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
