Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Severino da Fonseca started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Sílvio Luiz Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After 8 played minutes, Babi's Silas Matos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vicente Loyola came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Babi reached it. Alfredinho Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, SOCCER FC's goalkeeper Vicente Loyola had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredinho Dantas. A collision led to Babi getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Silas Matos hit a great ball. In the 18th match minute, SOCCER FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Loyola came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Babi's Alfredinho Dantas. But to his dismay, Alfredinho Dantas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 24th minute of the match, Alfredinho Dantas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vicente Loyola was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 26th match minute, SOCCER FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nildo Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredinho Dantas got free with Vicente Loyola in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jefferson Lara during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jefferson Lara hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Alfredinho Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Babi booed when SOCCER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nildo Fernandez hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Elias Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Edinho de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredinho Dantas in the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SOCCER FC's Gugu Santana got a free kick in the 68th minute. Joaquim Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Mazza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredinho Dantas in the 78th minute of play forced SOCCER FC's goalkeeper Vicente Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredinho Dantas in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Loyola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vicente Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, Silas Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Babi's Luisão Mesquita got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Severino da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Loyola having to interfere. SOCCER FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
