The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FLACONQUISTA's Vítor Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save FLACONQUISTA from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, FLACONQUISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Pernambucano came free, but Vítor Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Pernambucano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Vítor Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, José Paulo Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lenílson Vargas. Santo Expedito FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Paulo Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Santo Expedito FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandão Carneiro came free, but Lenílson Vargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Santo Expedito FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Serginho Santana hit a great ball. Lenílson Vargas came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by FLACONQUISTA's Fernandão Carneiro. But to his dismay, Fernandão Carneiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Santo Expedito FC's zone, Fernandão Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lenílson Vargas came out of the goal and Fernandão Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sydney Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Vítor Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Álvaro Hermes hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Pernambucano got free with Vítor Silva in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FLACONQUISTA's Vítor Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Pernambucano in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Jorge Pernambucano made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Sydney Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santo Expedito FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sydney Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 59 played minutes FLACONQUISTA got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Hermes. The supporters of FLACONQUISTA booed when Santo Expedito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santo Expedito FC's Lenílson Vargas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Santo Expedito FC from getting a goal against them. Belmiro Bezerra hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Pernambucano in the 70th minute of play forced FLACONQUISTA's goalkeeper Vítor Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Jorge Pernambucano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santo Expedito FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Carneiro in the 82nd minute of play forced Santo Expedito FC's goalkeeper Lenílson Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the game, FLACONQUISTA's Fernandão Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lenílson Vargas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Lenílson Vargas made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when José Paulo Senna sent off a good shot on target. 92 minutes into the game, Fernandão Carneiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Lenílson Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The FLACONQUISTA players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
