Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Reynaldo Brasil took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Babi booed when Murupu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severino da Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but David de Alcântara made a huge save. Maurinho Pitta's late challenge caught a Babi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurinho Pitta helped the player get up and apologised. After 7 played minutes Murupu EC got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Pitta. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reynaldo Brasil in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David de Alcântara saved Murupu EC from getting behind. After 12 played minutes Babi got a freekick which was hit by Vinícius Melo. David de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Brasil in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Murupu EC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Romário Rezende hit a great ball. Severino da Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but David de Alcântara made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Brasil in the 30th minute of play forced Murupu EC's goalkeeper David de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Monteiro in the 31st minute of play forced Babi's goalkeeper Elias Munhoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Murupu EC's Romário Rezende in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Babi's goalie prevented a goal. Elias Munhoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Monteiro in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romário Rezende to strike the kick off in the second half. With 56 minutes on the clock, Murilo Dias commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 56th minute, one of Murupu EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Murupu EC. David de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luciano Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Murupu EC's David de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Brasil in the 80th minute of play. Babi's Elias Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo José Cruz in the 84th minute of play. Doni de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Babi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Murupu EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
