Dênis Prata acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 41st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Doni de Azevedo. Dênis Prata made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Luciano Monteiro sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Romário Rezende kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dênis Prata. That made the score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

David de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to vasco getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Marcus Recife hit a great ball. Murupu EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of vasco for a fine match.
