Zé Augusto Brito's late challenge caught a Fluminense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Augusto Brito helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fluminense FC booed when Palmitinhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Raí Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fluminense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raí Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caio Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caio Cunha came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Fluminense FC's Carlinhos Castro. But to his dismay, Carlinhos Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Caio Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raí Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 minutes of play, Palmitinhos FC's Chicão Passos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gugu Trancoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 19 minutes, Oscar Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmitinhos FC and the Fluminense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Palmitinhos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Antunes to maneuver through the defense. Caio Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Caio Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 minutes, Cauan Tavares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluminense FC and the Palmitinhos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kiko Correia struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Gugu Trancoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmitinhos FC. Palmitinhos FC's Caio Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir da Silveira in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Valdir da Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Caio Cunha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gugu Trancoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão Passos in the 32nd minute. Palmitinhos FC's Caio Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí Bueno in the 38th minute of play. Caio Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raí Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caio Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Esteves in the 43rd minute of the match. If Raí Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvinho Sousa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Palmitinhos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Fluminense FC a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Walmir Guedes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Palmitinhos FC's Caio Cunha. 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kiko Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. Palmitinhos FC's Caio Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Palmitinhos FC from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the match, Palmitinhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reginaldo Esteves came free, but Caio Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caio Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Esteves in the 62nd minute of the match. Gugu Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Fluminense FC's Reginaldo Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Palmitinhos FC's Kiko Correia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gugu Trancoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Reginaldo Esteves came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Fluminense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Esteves couldn't finish the play. In the 87th match minute, Palmitinhos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Augusto Brito to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gugu Trancoso having to make a save. Kiko Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cauan Tavares was shown his second yellow card after 100 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 100th minute, Cauan Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle went the supporters of Fluminense FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Palmitinhos FC side.
