A collision led to Marasco getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Cesinha Souto hit a great ball. After 4 played minutes Gomão EC got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Monteiro. Tarcisio Proença made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Cesinha Souto sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th minute Duarte Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haroldo Teles during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Korhan Eğilmez kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Dorival Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Haroldo Teles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tarcisio Proença. Haroldo Teles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Cesinha Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Dorival Mota kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tarcisio Proença. That made the score 3-0 in the 41 minute of play. In the 45th minute, Dorival Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gomão EC's Duarte Ferraz pulled a muscle in his leg after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 47 minutes, Ludomil Paciuszko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marasco and the Gomão EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ludomil Paciuszko hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. In the 50th minute Ernani Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Haroldo Teles to strike the kick off in the second half. Haroldo Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Proença having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Nilson Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Korhan Eğilmez in the 67th minute of play forced Gomão EC's goalkeeper Tarcisio Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tarcisio Proença came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Marasco's Dorival Mota. But to his dismay, Dorival Mota quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Nilson Pernambucano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cafu de Queiroz firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the Gomão EC defense, Haroldo Teles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tarcisio Proença. The Gomão EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tarcisio Proença should have stopped the shot. After 86 played minutes Gomão EC got a freekick which was hit by Dedê Loyola. The supporters of Marasco booed when Gomão EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gomão EC's zone, Haroldo Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarcisio Proença came out of the goal and Haroldo Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Marasco fully deserved thier win.
