Cafu de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cafu de Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 24 minutes into the game, Telmo Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marasco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Black Hawks the free kick. The supporters of Black Hawks booed when Marasco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Telmo Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafu de Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Loureiro in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute Haroldo Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paúl Breitner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Flavinho Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cafu de Queiroz made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Haroldo Loureiro sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Black Hawks's zone, Haroldo Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavinho Ramalho came out of the goal and Haroldo Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute Dinei Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cafu de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Loureiro in the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, Marasco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Korhan Eğilmez to maneuver through the defense. Cafu de Queiroz was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Haroldo Loureiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Haroldo Loureiro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Haroldo Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Ramalho having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Korhan Eğilmez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marasco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. If Paúl Breitner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 89 minutes of play, Marasco's Korhan Eğilmez made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavinho Ramalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cesinha Souto came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Marasco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesinha Souto couldn't finish the play. Marasco were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
