An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Veiga in the 18th minute of play forced Gomão EC's goalkeeper Nelson Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelson Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Santana in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Veiga in the 37th minute of play forced Gomão EC's goalkeeper Nelson Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Bruninho Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelson Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Dorian Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Duarte Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Nelson Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelson Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruninho Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baltazar da Rocha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Albertinho Camargo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gomão EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 55thth minute of the game Baltazar da Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chiapetta's Betinho Marinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Gomão EC's goalkeeper Nelson Furtado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruninho Santana. In the 58th minute, Eugênio Mattos had to leave the field with a concussion. 58 minutes into the game, Moisés Meira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gomão EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chiapetta the free kick. Chiapetta made a substitution. Rodriguinho Netto replaced Eugênio Mattos. A collision led to Gomão EC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Moisés Meira hit a great ball. After having played for 63 minutes, Bruninho Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiapetta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruninho Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th match minute, Gomão EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléberson Pirani to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the game, Bruninho Santana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nelson Furtado. Bruninho Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Anibal Tello's late challenge caught a Gomão EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After a rather tough play, Chiapetta's Anibal Tello got a free kick in the 80th minute. Nelson Furtado made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Bruninho Santana sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Gomão EC's Nelson Furtado got control of the ball when Bruninho Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anibal Tello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Furtado having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Gomão EC's goal looked a bit too open when Maria Mole came free, but Nelson Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Gomão EC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Cléberson Pirani hit a great ball. Nelson Furtado made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Bruninho Santana sent off a good shot on target. Nelson Furtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruninho Santana in the 93rd minute. Chiapetta were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
