Sobral F.C.'s Juninho Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesinha Souto in the 7th minute of play. When Haroldo Teles came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Marasco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Teles couldn't finish the play. In the 16th match minute, Sobral F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Marasco's Olov Hermansson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Olov Hermansson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Marasco protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Olov Hermansson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 18th minute, one of Marasco:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marasco. After a defensive mix-up in Sobral F.C.'s zone, Cesinha Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Marques came out of the goal and Cesinha Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Teles in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juninho Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the game, Marasco's Korhan Eğilmez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juninho Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Juninho Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Teles in the 31st minute of the match. In the 36th minute Cesinha Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Marasco's Korhan Eğilmez got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute, Telmo Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Haroldo Teles took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juninho Marques. Juninho Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. In the 85th minute, Cesinha Souto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 90 minutes, Cesinha Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marasco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesinha Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Korhan Eğilmez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marasco's supporters rose to their feet, but Korhan Eğilmez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Sobral F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Marasco were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
