Flavinho Ramalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baltazar da Rocha's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute, Luiz Eduardo Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelson Furtado came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Black Hawks's Ramiro Urbano. But to his dismay, Ramiro Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar da Rocha in the 22nd minute of play forced Black Hawks's goalkeeper Flavinho Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltazar da Rocha in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Flavinho Ramalho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A hard shot 31 in the game by Baltazar da Rocha from a close distance when the talented Flavinho Ramalho managed to make a qualified save. Black Hawks's players were relieved. In the 32ndth minute of the game Baltazar da Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Hawks's Flavinho Ramalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nelson Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei Costa in the 41st minute of play. Cléberson Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléberson Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Flavinho Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar da Rocha in the 47th minute of the match. If Albertinho Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinei Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Flavinho Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Camargo in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar da Rocha in the 66th minute of play forced Black Hawks's goalkeeper Flavinho Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute Baltazar da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeu Donatello during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Black Hawks made a substitution. Bruninho Pena replaced Teodoro do Vale. The supporters of Black Hawks booed when Gomão EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeu Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th match minute, Black Hawks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Pena to maneuver through the defense. Gomão EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Donatello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
