Jacobina FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reginaldo Esteves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 18 minutes, Carlinhos Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluminense FC and the Jacobina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Jacobina FC fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Jacobina FC's Wilson Bezerra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Wilson Bezerra's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Gugu Trancoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Jacobina FC's Rafa Freire got a free kick in the 37th minute. Gugu Trancoso made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Wilson Bezerra sent off a good shot on target. Gugu Trancoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kauã Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When João Vítor de Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fluminense FC's protests and gave João Vítor de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute Laerte Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gugu Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reginaldo Esteves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reginaldo Esteves struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Bezerra in the 54th minute of play forced Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Gugu Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gugu Trancoso came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Jacobina FC's Tiago Dias. But to his dismay, Tiago Dias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Lucas Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Trancoso having to interfere. Kauã Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65thth minute of the game Wilson Bezerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fluminense FC's Gugu Trancoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Jacobina FC's goalkeeper Lucas Berger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raí Bueno. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olívio de Carvalho during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Jacobina FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fluminense FC:s goal. Lucas Berger had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping Walmir Guedes's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Bezerra came free, but Gugu Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gugu Trancoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Alberto Barreto went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Fluminense FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. João Vítor de Moraes hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilson Bezerra in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gugu Trancoso saved Fluminense FC from getting behind. Gugu Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Bezerra in the 96th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Laerte Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacobina FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Pinheiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gugu Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacobina FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
