After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Severino Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deliciosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavinho Ramalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Deliciosa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dinei Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Deliciosa's Arnaldo Leão got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flavinho Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Leão in the 28th minute of play. Flavinho Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Arnaldo Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deliciosa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Fernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Leão in the 70th minute of play forced Black Hawks's goalkeeper Flavinho Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite being the better team, Black Hawks failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
