In the 34th minute of the match, Teodoro Toledo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Virgílio França was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 35 played minutes Cuiabazinho SC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Gaúcho. In the 37th minute, Zeca Jacinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Bittencourt in the 43rd minute of play forced Cuiabazinho SC's goalkeeper Delfim Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimir Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vladimir Magalhães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cuiabazinho SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geraldo Bittencourt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a little luck, Cuiabazinho SC's Delfim Trancoso got control of the ball when Tomás Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Delfim Trancoso acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 79th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dedé Figueiredo. Manuel Meireles hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Dedé Figueiredo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Delfim Trancoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 86 minutes into the match, Água Cristal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Toledo came free, but Virgílio França reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgílio França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Cuiabazinho SC's Delfim Trancoso got control of the ball when Geraldo Bittencourt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Virgílio França didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nando Arantes went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
