Açailândia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuiabazinho SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Açailândia's Agostinho Donato got a free kick in the 18th minute. Manuel Meireles hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Cuiabazinho SC defense, Jeferson Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delfim Trancoso. The Cuiabazinho SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delfim Trancoso should have stopped the shot. Zé Paulo Catarinense struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Delfim Trancoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Açailândia. In the 59th minute Nando Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugênio Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Meireles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eugênio Simões. Açailândia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
