The tension between the Chimarrao and the FENÔMENO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Eliézer Arce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lucas da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cacá Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 10th match minute, FENÔMENO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Paulo Santana to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, FENÔMENO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho de Toledo came free, but Zé Paulo Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FENÔMENO FC's Adilson de Carvalho got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 21st match minute, FENÔMENO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Paulo Santana to maneuver through the defense. Gilmar Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Archie Mathews showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cacá Abraão, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to Chimarrao getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Germano Dantas hit a great ball. Zé Paulo Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Xavier in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Sílvio Luiz Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thomás Xavier struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Zé Paulo Munhoz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chimarrao. If Betinho de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Betinho de Toledo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Paulo Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Gustavo Ramos was the one to do the kick off. Betinho de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 53 minutes, Tales Moreira made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. FENÔMENO FC's Zé Paulo Munhoz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betinho de Toledo got free with Zé Paulo Munhoz in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zé Paulo Munhoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Betinho de Toledo went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. A collision led to Chimarrao getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Tales Moreira hit a great ball. FENÔMENO FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Eliézer Arce scored to the left of an out of position Zé Paulo Munhoz, making the score, 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betinho de Toledo got free with Zé Paulo Munhoz in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes into the game, Thomás Xavier recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zé Paulo Munhoz. Thomás Xavier showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betinho de Toledo got free with Zé Paulo Munhoz in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Betinho de Toledo could shoot a difficult shot in the 81st minute, which Zé Paulo Munhoz however easily saved by the left post. In the 82nd minute, Gilmar Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FENÔMENO FC's Simão Antunes got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Zé Paulo Munhoz was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Thomás Xavier capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Thomás Xavier really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. In the 96th minute Thomás Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chimarrao's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
