Thomás Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Darley Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo de Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charles das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomás Nogueira having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Fumbica FC's Fernando Terra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thomás Nogueira. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. Germano Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Fernando Terra hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Vander in the 30th minute of play forced Fumbica FC's goalkeeper Darley Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fumbica FC's Darley Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo de Queirós in the 35th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Anderson Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fumbica FC's José Augusto Sarmento shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Thomás Nogueira but with some difficulty. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernando Terra made a kick off. Darley Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fumbica FC's goalkeeper Darley Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Fernando Terra made a precise shot to the right of Thomás Nogueira. MASTERPENIS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Vítor Queiroz got his second yellow card in the match during the 71st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 71 played minutes Fumbica FC got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Queiroz. After a rather tough play, MASTERPENIS's Natanael Corrêa got a free kick in the 75th minute. Darley Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo de Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valério Vander's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Darley Taffarel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 95th minute, MASTERPENIS's Murilo de Queirós ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Darley Taffarel. Darley Taffarel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, Fumbica FC could leave the field as winners, despite MASTERPENIS having more of the ball for most of the match.
