Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 25) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Thomás Xavier got the match started through his kick off. Betinho de Toledo might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlinhos Batista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Betinho de Toledo ran back to his position shaking his head. 7 minutes into the match, Chimarrao's Gilmar Galvão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlinhos Batista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Valdomiro Macedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strutz FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 14th minute, José Augusto Neiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Archie Mathews was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Strutz FC's Carlinhos Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomás Xavier in the 19th minute of play. Isaltino Miranda hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Chimarrao's Thomás Xavier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. José Augusto Neiva took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Archie Mathews. Archie Mathews dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After having played for 26 minutes, Betinho de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chimarrao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho de Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Archie Mathews didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Bertassi went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Adrianinho Montenegro hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When Betinho de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Chimarrao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betinho de Toledo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 36 minutes, Gilmar Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlinhos Batista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomás Xavier's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
When Chimarrao's Betinho de Toledo in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Strutz FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Strutz FC defense, Eliézer Arce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlinhos Batista. The Strutz FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlinhos Batista should have stopped the shot. In the 59th minute, Strutz FC's José Augusto Neiva ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Archie Mathews. Archie Mathews yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. After 65 minutes of play, Chimarrao's Thomás Xavier made it 3-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlinhos Batista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thomás Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Eliézer Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute Betinho de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Xavier in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Strutz FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Isaltino Miranda hit a great ball. Thomás Xavier was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 80th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute Thomás Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Betinho de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Batista having to interfere. Gilmar Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Batista having to interfere. When Gernando de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Strutz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando de Souza couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Betinho de Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Strutz FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Chimarrao side.
