Sylwester Nakoneczny breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Çelik Ozan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel dos Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Durval Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Pombal's late challenge caught a Joanesia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Pombal helped the player get up and apologised. Dadá Paraíbas short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Sylwester Nakoneczny to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The long shot by Róbson Pires in the 32nd minute really tested Sylwester Nakoneczny's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Joel dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Hoffmann in the 33rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Dadá Paraíba put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sylwester Nakoneczny. The supporters of SC Internacional booed when Joanesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee gave Claudinho Pombal a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 59 played minutes, Joanesia's Róbson Pires shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sylwester Nakoneczny came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Joanesia reached it. If Dadá Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. With a left leg Sylwester Nakoneczny saved SC Internacional from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, SC Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Mazza came free, but Sylwester Nakoneczny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Joanesia fully deserved thier win.
