After 8 played minutes, POA Gladiators's Giovanni Carioca shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel dos Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in POA Gladiators reached it. Joel dos Santos came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by POA Gladiators's Fermín Mala. But to his dismay, Fermín Mala quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Giovanni Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. POA Gladiators's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joanesia's Joel dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermín Mala in the 22nd minute of play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Fermín Mala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joanesia's Joel dos Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Dadá Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durval Saraiva was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Joanesia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 39 minutes into the game, Giovanni Carioca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Joel dos Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Durval Saraiva fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joanesia's protests and gave Durval Saraiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd match minute, Joanesia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. Rafa Mello took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joel dos Santos. Joanesia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Durval Saraiva was the one to do the kick off. Fermín Mala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel dos Santos having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Fermín Mala managed to get in a good position for a shot. POA Gladiators's supporters rose to their feet, but Fermín Mala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Eliézer Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, POA Gladiators's Fermín Mala ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joel dos Santos. Joel dos Santos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Eliézer Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel dos Santos having to interfere. Fermín Mala struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Joel dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for POA Gladiators. After having played for 96 minutes, Fermín Mala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. POA Gladiators's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fermín Mala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded POA Gladiators left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Joanesia.
