The supporters of Nautico booed when POA Gladiators was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Mineiro in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Augusto Pombal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fermín Mala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fermín Mala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Silva having to interfere. Juvenal Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd match minute, POA Gladiators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Neves to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Augusto Pombal acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mauro Meirelles. Juvenal Neves took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafinha Silva. Rafinha Silva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rafinha Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermín Mala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Juvenal Neves suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 33 minutes, Caco Donatello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nautico and the POA Gladiators players grew even worse after the yellow card. POA Gladiators's Zeca Dias was substituted for Juvenal Neves. Rafinha Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermín Mala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Júlio Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Rafinha Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fermín Mala in the 51st minute of play. When Nautico's Júlio Mineiro in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye POA Gladiators's goalie prevented a goal. In the 55thth minute of the game Fermín Mala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nautico's Rafinha Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zeca Dias hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match Rafael de Barros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Augusto Pombal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nautico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rafael de Barros in the 66th minute. When Nautico's Emanuel Perez in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye POA Gladiators's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 71 minutes, Júlio Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nautico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 minutes, Júlio Mineiro made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. POA Gladiators's Carlos Augusto Pombal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Júlio Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Augusto Pombal came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Nautico's Júlio Mineiro. But to his dismay, Júlio Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 93rdth minute of the game Júlio Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but POA Gladiators's Carlos Augusto Pombal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nautico fans cheered their team off the field, for while POA Gladiators had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
