Jonas Pirani came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by SE Palmeiras's Christiano Baiano. But to his dismay, Christiano Baiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ce Juventus's Jonas Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio do Valle in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, SE Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Magno Guimarães came free, but Nilson Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Vinhas hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, SE Palmeiras's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Adriano Arruda fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jonas Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basílio do Valle went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Nilson Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magno Guimarães in the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, André Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilson Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremias Marinho in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Ce Juventus's Magno Guimarães dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The Ce Juventus players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SE Palmeiras were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Guimarães to make the kick off. Ce Juventus's Magno Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ian Cerezo charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Cerezo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 63 minutes into the match, SE Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Arruda came free, but Nilson Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 75 minutes of play, SE Palmeiras's Christiano Baiano made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonas Pirani was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 79 minutes, Paulo Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ce Juventus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Magno Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ce Juventus's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nilson Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magno Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SE Palmeiras's zone, Magno Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson Dracena came out of the goal and Magno Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magno Guimarães in the 90th minute of play forced SE Palmeiras's goalkeeper Nilson Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Magno Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ce Juventus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magno Guimarães couldn't finish the play.
