In the 3rd minute Kiko Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Prado in the 4th minute of play forced Languiru SC's goalkeeper Giovanni Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Languiru SC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Valdir Gaúcho hit a great ball. If Ivo Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Valdo Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Languiru SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdo Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 12 minutes, Ivo Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Languiru SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Domingues in the 14th minute of play forced Languiru SC's goalkeeper Giovanni Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Languiru SC's Giovanni Monteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Languiru SC from getting a goal against them. Giovanni Monteiro made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when João Augusto Faria sent off a good shot on target. Giovanni Monteiro came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Novorizontino's João Augusto Faria. But to his dismay, João Augusto Faria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of Languiru SC booed when Grêmio Novorizontino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Kiko Domingues dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Giovanni Monteiro, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel de Queiroz got free with Giovanni Monteiro in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute of the match, Kiko Domingues tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giovanni Monteiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 30 minutes, Luís Paulo de Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Languiru SC and the Grêmio Novorizontino players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luís Paulo de Almeida hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Languiru SC's goal looked a bit too open when Kiko Domingues came free, but Giovanni Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Monteiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 33rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Washington da Fonseca. 35 minutes into the match, Languiru SC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Prado came free, but Giovanni Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Domingues in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Novorizontino's João Augusto Faria got a free kick in the 42nd minute.

The wind increased when Kiko Domingues made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes, Grêmio Novorizontino's Severino Paes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Giovanni Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grêmio Novorizontino reached it. Valdo Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Norberto Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Monteiro came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Novorizontino's Geovani Prado. But to his dismay, Geovani Prado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Giovanni Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Domingues in the 59th minute of play. Luís Paulo de Almeida got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 60th match minute, Languiru SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Augusto Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Giovanni Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. João Augusto Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Languiru SC's goal looked a bit too open when Kiko Domingues came free, but Giovanni Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Domingues in the 93rd minute of the match. Kiko Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Grêmio Novorizontino were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
