When Moisés Matorin was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. After some careless play in the 100 Noção FC defense, Fausto Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duda Catarinense. The 100 Noção FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duda Catarinense should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Antônio Sousa sped through 100 Noção FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Duda Catarinense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Operário Laranjeiras's zone, Thiago Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hudson Bastos came out of the goal and Thiago Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 55th minute of the match Sandro Cabral completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Sandro Cabral a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Cícero Dionísio took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Duda Catarinense to make any attempt to save it. In the 61st match minute, 100 Noção FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Prata to maneuver through the defense. Antônio Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Duda Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute Leonel Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute Leonel Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hudson Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Sanches in the 86th minute of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Operário Laranjeiras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
