Tiaguinho Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Oséas Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Atlético de Itu's Raphael Britto got a free kick in the 18th minute. Marcel Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oséas Corrêa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. If Tiaguinho Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Oséas Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Baiano in the 53rd minute of the match. If Luiz Fábio Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Marcel Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarulhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséas Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bret Harper made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Carlos Augusto Sena sent off a good shot on target. Guarulhas's Bret Harper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Bittencourt in the 93rd minute of play. Marcel Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Atlético de Itu's Vânderson Rocha couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 97th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Guarulhas.
