Luiz Gustavo Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 20 minutes, Elivélton Meireles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chateaubriand and the Casalvasco EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Casalvasco EC booed when Chateaubriand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jorge Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Jorge Brodel fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Luiz Gustavo Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Casalvasco EC's Richard Munhoz got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Marinho in the 34th minute of play forced Casalvasco EC's goalkeeper Gildo Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Luiz Gustavo Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Casalvasco EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Gustavo Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaltino Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Gustavo Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Chiquinho Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gildo Bittencourt. Casalvasco EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chiquinho Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Gustavo Motta made a kick off. Isaltino Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Isaltino Rossi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Brodel went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Hílton Varela fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Casalvasco EC's protests and gave Hílton Varela a yellow card for diving instead. Hílton Varela hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Chiquinho Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Chateaubriand's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Brodel came free, but Isaltino Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Gustavo Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaltino Rossi having to interfere. If Luiz Gustavo Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casalvasco EC's Jorge Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaltino Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo Motta in the 96th minute of the match. Casalvasco EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Chateaubriand for a fine match.
