Grossas AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Luiz Fábio Mendonça scored to the left of an out of position Claudinei Melo, making the score, 1-1. Claudinei Melo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcel Baiano went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 27thth minute of the game Gabriel Mazza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guarulhas's Bret Harper was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Toninho Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grossas AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarulhas the free kick. Toninho Cardoso hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The Grossas AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gabriel Mazza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
