Amauri de Carvalho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hortêncio Freire. AMATRICIANA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Indios SS's Hernani Sanches sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hortêncio Freire narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hortêncio Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernani Sanches in the 21st minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, AMATRICIANA's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Sanches came free, but Hortêncio Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hortêncio Freire came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Indios SS's Charles Carioca. But to his dismay, Charles Carioca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Charles Carioca charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles Carioca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charles Carioca was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of AMATRICIANA booed when Indios SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Indios SS's goalkeeper Roberto Tinoco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hortêncio Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Carioca in the 56th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Charles Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Indios SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hortêncio Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Edinho Camargo fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Indios SS's protests and gave Edinho Camargo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, AMATRICIANA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Augusto Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. The AMATRICIANA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Indios SS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
