When Gugu Gerber fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rufa City FC - FSCMZ's protests and gave Gugu Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Cabo Frio a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fernandinho Leme, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rufa City FC - FSCMZ's Clemente Baiano. 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Russ Bull made a kick off. In the 79th minute, Evandro de Barros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rufa City FC - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. Gugu Gerber was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
