The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of xeretinha:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Indios SS:s goal. Roberto Tinoco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samuel da Rocha went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Roberto Tinoco came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by xeretinha's Wilson Seco. But to his dismay, Wilson Seco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The supporters of Indios SS booed when xeretinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráusio Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Machado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernani Sanches in the 44th minute. If Charles Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When Thiago de Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Indios SS's protests and gave Thiago de Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, one of Indios SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Indios SS. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for xeretinha. Jano Tavares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Roberto Tinoco. 2-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Dráusio Dantas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roberto Tinoco. That made the score 2-4 in the 60 minute of play. Charles Carioca's late challenge caught a xeretinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Carioca helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes Indios SS got a freekick which was hit by Charles Carioca. In the 69th minute of the match Basílio de Medeiros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Machado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Samuel da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roberto Tinoco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilson Seco went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. When Wilson Seco came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the xeretinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Seco couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Indios SS's Edinho Camargo got a free kick in the 89th minute. Jano Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Roberto Tinoco made a huge save. Wilson Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Hernani Sanches had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Machado. xeretinha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hernani Sanches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. When the match was over xeretinha could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Indios SS throughout the match.
