Edward Tyskie took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernandão Pernambucano. Fernandão Pernambucano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 7th minute, Borussia Dortmund FC's Walmir Melo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Evelio Cobo. Evelio Cobo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Gerson Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, VR. GARARU's Evelio Cobo got control of the ball when Walmir Melo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernandão Pernambucano came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by VR. GARARU's Paulinho Payakov. But to his dismay, Paulinho Payakov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund FC's Tião Lucas got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Walmir Melo struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Evelio Cobo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borussia Dortmund FC. VR. GARARU's Orlando Fonseca suffered a concussion after 48 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delfim Chaves during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. VR. GARARU made a substitution. Samuca Marinho replaced Orlando Fonseca. After 49 played minutes Borussia Dortmund FC got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Chaves. The Borussia Dortmund FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. VR. GARARU were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walmir Melo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gerson Leite succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 54th playminute. GARARU's Gilberto Abraão got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 87 minutes into the game, Flórián Szabó was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VR. GARARU's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borussia Dortmund FC the free kick. Flórián Szabó kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Wágner Gerber hit a great ball. In the 91st match minute, Borussia Dortmund FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Baiano to maneuver through the defense. Fernandão Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Tyskie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Teixeira in the 96th minute of play forced VR. GARARU's goalkeeper Evelio Cobo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Borussia Dortmund FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. VR. GARARU were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
