David Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Faria having to interfere. André Luiz Galvão's late challenge caught a Burituranas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nunez Fidele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Nestor Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Burituranas FC's Faustão Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Tasso in the 39th minute of play. Nunez Fidele who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Nestor Faria when he managed to save the team from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nunez Fidele to strike the kick off in the second half. Nestor Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jovica Kurčubić in the 52nd minute of the match. If Nunez Fidele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burituranas FC's Faustão Toscano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Burituranas FC from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Burituranas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peri EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Burituranas FC.
