In the 13th minute Lauro Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute Lambari were awarded a corner. Orlando Arce went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Lambari's Orlando Arce to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulo de Godoi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Lauro Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lambari's supporters rose to their feet, but Lauro Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauro Brasil kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Pedro Luís Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Lambari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luís Hermes couldn't finish the play. Paulo de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Andrézinho de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Tasso having to interfere. In the 35th minute Hílton Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Lauro Guimarães made a precise shot to the right of Paulo de Godoi. Buritama Sport Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 47 minutes, Lauro Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lambari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lauro Guimarães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Lauro Guimarães made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Lambari's Lauro Guimarães got a free kick in the 54th minute. Baltazar Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After 59 minutes, Lino Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buritama Sport Club and the Lambari players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Buritama Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Lino Sousa. Paulo de Godoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reginaldo Sergipano in the 63rd minute. Lino Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 66 minutes Buritama Sport Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Orlando Arce who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Orlando Arce got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paulo de Godoi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marco Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Evandro Simão made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lambari's Marco Luz. After a defensive mix-up in Buritama Sport Club's zone, Reginaldo Sergipano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo de Godoi came out of the goal and Reginaldo Sergipano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Buritama Sport Club getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Paulinho de Lima hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Buritama Sport Club's goalkeeper Paulo de Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oséias Alves. With a little luck, Buritama Sport Club's Paulo de Godoi got control of the ball when Lauro Guimarães tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Lauro Guimarães kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo de Godoi. That made the score 0-2 in the 93 minute of play. Vito Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Lambari left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Buritama Sport Club.
